Pierwsza rzecz jaką zwiedziłem w Bułgarii.
First thing I've visited in Bulgaria.
Po wjeździe do Bułgarii zdecydowałem się pojechać na kemping niedaleko Wielkiego Tyrnowa. Po drodze moją uwagę przykuł znak ruin. Zajechałem na miejsce, żeby zostać przywitanym tekstem, że już zamknięte. Zszedłem z motocykla, żeby zobaczyć godziny otwarcia. Może jutro tu przyjadę. Kartka na drzwiach informowała po angielsku: "Godziny otwarcia 9-18. Ostatni goście są wpuszczani do 17.30". Co ciekawe była 17.25, czego nie omieszkałem zauważyć. Wobec takich argumentów zostałem zaproszony na teren i jako jedyny gość mogłem podziwiać te wspaniałe ruiny.
Okazało się, że to pozostałość rzymskiego miasta "Nicopolis ad Istrum", którego rozkwit przypada na przełom II i III wieku naszej ery.
After I’ve entered Bulgaria i headed towards Veliko Trnovo for camping. Along the way I saw a sign of ancient ruins, so I decided to give it a go. When I arrived at the site, first thing I’ve heard is that the place is already closed. “Ok” I though, let me see the opening hours so I can return here later. It turned out that the last visitors were allowed until 5.30 pm. As it was only 5.25, I’ve mentioned the fact to the staff and they had no choice but let me in. I was the only visitor.
The site are the ruins of a Roman city called ‘Nicopolis ad Istrum’ and is dated around 2-3 AD. .
